'Witness for the Prosecution' is one of Agatha Christie's masterpieces, both for the interweaving of the story full of intrigue, mystery and suspense, and for the psychological depth of the characters. Born as a short story in 1925 and later transformed into a full-fledged play, although never performed in Italy, it is nevertheless very well known thanks to the 1957 film version directed by Billy Wilder. It is the story of a man accused of murdering a rich widow, whose will favours him. A courtroom drama set in a masterly staging, very accurate in rendering the procedures and legal jargon, but at the same time perfectly intelligible to the spectator, who is accompanied step by step towards an unsurpassable finale with a 'double twist'. The protagonists on stage are a woman, Romaine (Vanessa Gravina), wife of Leonard (Giulio Corso) and his lawyer, Sir Wilfrid (Giorgio Ferrara).

The cast as a whole consists of 12 actors, plus six jurors chosen from the audience before the start of the show. Skilful direction by Geppy Gleijeses, who confirms himself after the great successes of "Sorelle Materassi", "Arsenico e vecchi merletti", and "Così parlò Bellavista".
