IL TEMPIO DELLE FOLE/ Medea

Female, witch, excessive, cruel and innocent at the same time. This is how the 'Medea' staged by Costruzioni teatrali Poieofolà, which, after last year's 'Le Baccanti' by Euripides, returns to the embrace of the cloister of the Teatini with the review 'Il tempio delle fole' centred on the women of Euripides, is presented in a decisive and direct manner. Taking on the lacerated soul of the 'murderous mother', who slaughtered her son, is Luana Greco, acting on the texts and directed by Roberto Treglia, following that 'fil noire' that has become a distinctive and highly personal trait of the Gallipoli company, capable of restoring to the audience the intensity of the ancient drama and the contemporaneity of the characters. This is combined with an absolute love for tradition: suffice it to say that the play is performed according to Greek canons, between elegiac couplets and iambic trimeter.
