European Researchers' and Women's Night/ Copenhagen

European Researchers' and Women's Night/ Copenhagen

After the last edition in 2019, the European Researchers' Night scientific popularisation event is back. Research and innovation on macrocosm and microcosm, nanotechnology, biomedicine, agriculture and food, environment and sustainability, biosphere and biodiversity, archaeology, art, culture and creativity, with around 70 proposals scheduled. The 'European Researchers' Night' is organised by the University of Salento, in cooperation with CNR, Infn, Iit, Cmcc, Enea and Instm and with the support of the Regional Council of Puglia. In the morning at 10 a.m. there will be an appointment with "Lecce biotechnology" at the Ecotekne campus, where a "plenary lecture" is scheduled, and in the afternoon a round table on the biotech ecosystem in Salento. At 8.30 p.m. on the stage of the Apollo Theatre will be the play 'Copenhagen' by Michael Frayn with Fabrizio Pugliese, Silvia Lodi and Simone Franco, directed by Fabrizio Saccomanno. It is a UniSalento production with URA Teatro, about the meeting in the middle of World War II between Niels Bohr and Werner Heisenberg, two of the greatest physicists of the last century and among the founders of quantum mechanics. Their collaboration is considered a historical mystery, because the two, bound by the relationship between master and pupil, belong to warring nations and are aware that their theoretical discoveries may soon be applied to build weapons decisive for the destinies of the World.

Free admission.
