Women’s Equality Festival

Two days of meetings, round tables, readings, concerts, performances to talk about gender equality and female entrepreneurship as drivers of development. The second edition of the Women's Equality Festival returns to Lecce and, in the wake of President Sergio Mattarella's words pronounced on International Women's Day "the road to achieving effective equality, consisting of full rights and opportunities, is still long and presents difficulties", it aims to stimulate debate and a concrete response from the community. Thus, on the stage of the Apollo theatre there will be experts and excellences from the territory who will discuss enterprise and work, gender policy within companies, but also language and inclusiveness, women and conflicts, gender violence, women in show business.

It starts at 9 a.m. with the Provincial Council of Students of Lecce followed, at 10 a.m., by the talk "Free talents" during which they will discuss how to invest in work and accompany companies in growth by reducing the gender gap. Speakers: Katia Da Ros, Titti De Simone, Paola Pirotta, Fabio Pollice, Linda Laura Sabbadini, Roberto Natale, the mayor of Lecce Carlo Salvemini, Rita Santaniello and Cristiana Scelza.


At 12 noon it is the turn of 'Women, enterprise and territory' with Raffaele Fitto, Raffaella Altamura, Teresa Caradonna, Diana De Marchi, Mariangela Siciliano and Laura Tosto.

At 3.30 p.m. "Smart Puglia", entrepreneurial excellences of the territory with Adriana Angarano, Gianna Elisa Berlingerio, Davide de Palma, Roberto Marti, Stefania Quaini and Luigi Triggiani.

At 4.30 p.m. "Economy of Happiness", change, leadership, diversity, inclusion and justice. Speakers: Costanza Hermanin, Pegah Moshir Pour, Lella Palladino, Eugenia Romanelli.

At 5.30 p.m. "Stem, research, innovation: the technical-scientific professions" to talk about women in science, speakers include Anna Maria Cherubini, Patrizia Colella, Mara Corbo, Francesca Corvaglia, Mariacristina Leo, Valeria Leva, Laura Liguori, Marco Motta, Micaela Piccoli, Mara Tanelli and Ersilia Vaudo Scarpetta.

The first day of the festival closes with the reading and music show "Reading Lolita in Tehran" with Cinzia Spanò and Roberta Di Mario, at 9.30 pm.
