Sant'Oronzo 2023/ Exhibition in the printing house

The history of Lecce has passed through these rooms, from ink to paper. The Tipografia del Commercio in Via dei Perroni is a true dive into the past but also a treasure chest of priceless treasures that make tangible the memory of a community. Until early this year on the threshold one could glimpse Mr. Alberto Buttazzo, typographer-composer, son and grandson of art. And deciding to enter, Mr. Buttazzo would lead visitors through the memories and splendor of a Lecce embellished for theater and opera, among drawers of movable type, colored papers, machines and old clichés. "Here, there is my whole life. Buttazzo: printers for three generations!" he said. Mr. Buttazzo is no longer here, but his print shop laden with beautiful memorabilia lives on by hosting, on the occasion of the patronal feast, two exhibitions dedicated to the feast of the saints traced through time through the posters that were printed here and another exhibition entitled "Let's Save the Olive Wood."
The exhibitions can be visited from Aug. 24 to 26 from 10 a.m. to noon and 6 to 10 p.m.
