Remembrance Week/ Passage to Salento

For Remembrance Week, the Jewish Museum offers a rich programme of initiatives. At 5pm the homage to the memory of Moshe Haelion, deported to Auschwitz and a refugee in the transit camp of Santa Maria al Bagno between 1945 and 1946, who passed away recently. Following this, the screen lights up on the video interview, made by his daughter Rachel in 2020. At 18.30, the curtain rises on the play 'Passaggio in Salento', written, directed and performed by Giustina De Iaco. Ester, a Holocaust survivor, also tries to survive her difficult rebirth in Salento in transit camps 34 and 39. What was her fate, what is it and what will it be? Her questions seek an answer in memory, in the land that welcomes her and in the hope of the promised land beyond the sea.
