Qui se mai verrai/ Imran Khan

Qui se mai verrai/ Imran Khan

He has created his own style of sitar Imran Khan, faithful to the centuries-old tradition of Hindustani classical music but appreciative of musical traditions from other parts of the world. A descendant of the Sikar Gharana, he belongs to the tenth generation of court musicians who have preserved classical Indian music as a family tradition. He learnt to play from an early age, a pupil of his grandfather, the sarangi player and vocalist Ustad Gulab Khan, and then went on to study the sitar with his father Ustad Niyaz Khan and his uncle Padma Bhushan Ustad Sultan Khan. The musician performs in the garden of the former Sant'Anna Conservatory in Lecce for the "Qui se mai verrai... Il Salento dei Poeti" festival organised by the Fondo Verri. During the evening, Gianni Minerva reads a poem by Rabindranath Tagore.

Free entrance.
