Pe(n)sa differente

"Celebrate your different weight" has always been the claim of "Pe(n)sa differente", a festival of creative expression and authentic beauty that for three days invades and colours the spaces of the Bernardini Library with exhibitions, workshops, performances, shows, scientific, social, cultural, artistic, sporting and culinary encounters, concerts and screenings. The festival, now in its 16th edition, entitles its 2023 edition "I the only* me": a title that represents the condition of our present day, a tribute to subjectivity that has the right to manifest itself as well as critical thinking and difference. An invitation for more, a real spur to embark on a path of personal construction that is free, independent and resistant to forms of commodification and homologation.

Several events are scheduled, including:

Thursday 15, at 8 p.m., the musical reading "Virus" by Jurta produzioni and Dioscurie then the audiovisual installation "Quello che non si vede" curated by Big Sur; the installation "Disdir/Disdire la moda" curated by Rosanna Calcagnile and Santa Scioscio; the exhibition "ME di ME" curated by Massimo Pasca, a collective of self-portraits; "Sette donne per il laboratorio sociale di Leverano" with illustrations by Alessandra De Cristofaro.

On Friday 16, at 3.30 p.m., at the former Convitto Palmieri, Anna Basta, former butterfly of the national rhythmic gymnastics team, will bring her dramatic testimony on the discomfort that led her to abandon her competitive career, linked to the pressures on her physical fitness suffered in the sporting environment. A discomfort that later turned into a social commitment for the protection of the well-being of the individual and in particular of athletes.

Also on Friday 16, at 8.00 pm, there is the festival's special guest Miguel Benasayag. A philosopher, psychoanalyst and writer, born in 1953 in Argentina, he took refuge in France after his experience during the Guevarist guerrilla war in Paris, and today deals with the problems of childhood and adolescence and the interaction between technology and the human being.

On Saturday 17, at 8.30 pm, dance happening "The Sisters". A story about female emancipation, the necessary detachment from one's family of origin, competition with sisters and other women of the clan, in a tale where bodies experience absence, pain, and emotional emptiness. Directed by Annamaria De Filippi. Elektra dance company, with the participation of Compagnia Atto and Laboratori espressivi Centro Dna Lecce.
