Natale all’Abbazia di Cerrate/ Gli auguri a mano libera

Preparations for the Christmas festivities continue at the Abbey of Santa Maria di Cerrate. Open to girls and boys aged 15 and over, the calligraphy workshop held by Alessandro Fiorentino, an expert in medieval calligraphy, offers the chance to make a greeting card with the techniques used by ancient amanuensis. Accompanied by a typical Salento basket of food. Available through reservation, the participants are shown how to make a manuscript page, the different types of historical script, and finally Italic cursive, used to shape their own personal greeting card to take home. "Christmas at the Abbey of Cerrate" is a series of Christmas events, organised by the delegation of the Italian Environmental Fund of Lecce, under the patronage of the Municipality of Lecce.
