Christmas in Lecce/ Cloister of Light

As the Christmas air becomes more and more intense, the city's main venues are filled with music and colours. Four concerts, an itinerary to discover Lecce's Baroque, churches enriched with the notes of tradition, both national and local: this is “Natale a Lecce”, an initiative by ArtWork associatin, realised in synergy with the Archdiocese of Lecce and the “Splendor Fidei” foundation, under the patronage of the Municipality. Also, everything is made more electric and brighter, thanks to the "Chiostro di luce" videomapping, back again with a new edition realised in collaboration with the "Arte Amica" cooperative society. The architecture of the Chiostro del Seminario, in the building overlooking Lecce Cathedral, becomes the backdrop against which a special video technique combines multimedia elements with surfaces. Thus, the four-sided portico of the Ancient Seminary building “stages” the most typical scenes, from the birth of Christ to the arrival of the Three Kings at the Bethlehem grotto, rendered with the use of over 20,000 lumens at very high resolution.

The exhibition can be visited from 21 December to 7 January, with the exception of 24 and 31 December, every day from 5 to 8 pm.
