Musica, cartapesta e arte/ Cortili aperti a Natale

Christmas at the Chiesa della Nova, dressed up for the entire Christmas season, is full of “Music, papier-mâché and art” (Musica, cartapesta e arte). Inside the ellipsoid that forms the sacred place, in fact, you can breathe in all the tradition of the ancient art of papier-mâché, still honoured and glorified by today's masters that follow in the footsteps of those of the past. Thus, in its vaults, you can admire now a moving Nativity, now typical characters of the Salento nativity scene, while musical events continue to sweeten the festive air. An event that usually comes in springtime adds to the programme, and opens the doors of Lecce's noble palaces, showing them off in all their splendour: “Cortili aperti a Natale” (Open Courtyards at Christmas) comes back again. Thanks to the Dimore Storiche association and the Municipality of Lecce, the evocative courtyards are open for visits, also accompanied by musical, theatrical and other artistic events.

The church can be visited from 25 to 30 December and from 5 to 6 January, from 10 to 12 a.m. and from 6 to 8 p.m.
