Lecce Christmas Buskers

Leading the merry, colourful and Christmassy caravan of the Salento Buskers Festival is Trampuglia. A tall 'captain' on stilts followed by fireworks, juggling and music along the city's central streets to immerse everyone in the magic of the approaching Christmas. And there is also Trampuglia Junior and all the other 'Trampuglia' students from the CirKnos Circus School in Lecce. Magic within magic, peeping out in the heart of the Baroque are the fakir Mr Thomas and his flamboyances; Kukulà and his clownery; Lillo Birillo and his small-big juggling; Miss G, his aerial evolutions and his bubble-bicycle; Emanuele Lacerenza and his "Manucircus"; Giulio Linguiti and his crystal balls. Then Marcella 'la trampoliera' and Beo the stilt-walker in love with the stars. And there is no shortage of music, from Fanfarroni and the folk street band Ombrass. The big parade starts from via Libertini and continues, until 10 pm, along via Palmieri, via dei Perroni, via d'Aragona and via Trinchese.
