Hands and listening/ Elio Corianò, Stella Grande, Vito Aluisi

The work that kills is sung at "Incontri con il pianoforte tra parole e musica" (Meetings with the piano between words and music) as part of the 22nd edition of "Le mani e l'ascolto", the calendar of events made up of words and sounds hosting writers, poets and musicians. Poet Elio Corianò accompanied by the voice of Stella Grande and the music of Vito Aluisi will take the stage at the Fondo Verri to present the book "Pane lavoro e sangue" (Bread, work and blood) published by Musicaos. Elio Corianò's collection of poems was born in 2018, on the initiative of the Unesco Club of Galatina, which asked the Salento poet to commemorate, with his verses, 'The Fallen of the Risen Christ' of 19 April 1903 on the occasion of the celebration of the memory of those young people from Galatina who were killed, victims of misery and exploitation. A death that did not remain in vain because their sacrifice contributed to the awakening of civil conscience in the Salento and led to the stipulation of one of the first labour contracts between peasants and agrarians.
