Handicrafts of excellence

For three days, the Baroque capital becomes the capital of handicrafts and also of sustainability. The former church of San Francesco della Scarpa will host the 12th edition of 'Artigianato d'eccellenza', an exhibition-market of top Italian handicrafts, which is supported by Fondazione Sylva. The exhibition of the best Italian craftsmen, born in 2009 from an idea of Maria Lucia Seracca Guerrieri Portaluri, devotes great attention to the most important social issues. The good cause adopted, to which part of the proceeds of the initiative is donated, is that of sustainability, following the partnership entered into with Fondazione Sylva. The group led by Luigi de Vecchi aims to restore and regenerate degraded green areas in Salento. Supporting Sylva's cause is the sensitivity of two international artists, jewellery designer Dorothée Potocka and photographer Daniele Coricciati. Two of their works will be sold during the exhibition-market to finance the reforestation activities. Beauty and glamour, thanks to the names of international craftsmanship who are guests of the exhibition, will be combined on the last day with the historical and architectural suggestions of 'Open Courtyards'.
The exhibition market is open on Friday 19 from 6 to 9 p.m.; Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.
