Franco Battiato. Unpredictable Flights/ Nicola Neto

"The sky is primordially pure and unchanging, while clouds are temporary." So sang Franco Battiato in "Io chi sono?", one of his mystical songs, along with "E ti vengo a cercare," "Oceano di silenzio," "L'ombra della luce," "Lode all'inviolato," and "Aspettando l'estate" at the center of the meeting "Franco Battiato. Unpredictable Flights," curated by Lecce Film Fest artistic director Nicola Neto. In the presence of the scholar of phenomenology of religions Antonio Margiotta, for years a close friend and confidant of the Catania singer-songwriter, the therapeutic aspect of Battiato's music is addressed. Between images and songs, the search continues with "Il volo magico" by Claudio Rocchi, the most original and spiritual of the singer-songwriters of the early 1970s, who was also a great friend and inspiration to Franco Battiato. Closing the program is the game "Aliens," in which viewers have fun searching for and finding affinities and divergences between two giants of pop music-David Bowie and Franco Battiato.
