Dante's journey

For the 2023 edition of 'Dantedì', the national day dedicated to Dante Alighieri, the Municipality of Lecce is holding a multimedia project 'Dante's Journey' in the spaces of the Augustinian complex. Conceived by Virginia Valzano, Ceit's technical-scientific coordinator, the initiative highlights Dante's love for nature, present in all his works and in particular in the Divine Comedy, bringing it together with the cultural, environmental and naturalistic heritage of the museums and botanical gardens through an interactive multimedia application. In the garden of OgniBene, a path is set up among the various botanical species present, such as laurel, fig, mulberry, apple, olive, oak, myrtle, lemon, papyrus and rose. By means of a QR code, visitors can enjoy text and multimedia content, including verses from the Divine Comedy concerning these essences, recited by Antonio Della Rocca. As novice 'ciceroni', students from the Siciliani high school accompany visitors along the route. The video 'Dante ecologist and poet in the world. Divine' illustrations by Gustave Doré", with a presentation by Massimo Bray.
Hours: visits take place from 9.30 am to 1 pm and from 3 pm to 6.30 pm.
