Conversations on the future/ Mother tongue

"And now how do I explain it to them?". How many parents have asked themselves this question as their children grow up and begin to wonder about the origin of life, love and its implications? A question that is also the title of a workshop at the Ognibene library, from 10.30 to 12 a.m., organised by Barbara Caiulo, a midwife expert in sexuality education, aimed at parents with sons and daughters aged 9 to 12. With her, Iliana Morelli, an expert in Montessori pedagogy, and Marta Morelli, a psychologist and psychotherapist, will talk about sexual and affective education, an important topic but one that is still full of embarrassment and taboos. The workshop is reserved for a maximum of 25 people: booking required www.bibliotecaognibene.it/attivita/laboratori/.
At 16 p.m. the afternoon at the Ognibene Library is instead dedicated to the "Lingua Madre" literary competition, devised by Daniela Finocchi, which selects short stories by women who are no longer foreigners in Italy, then collected in a volume. Daniela Finocchi will present the 2023 edition in dialogue with Marie Christine Mukamunana and Lauramaria Fabiani, first prize winners, and Amal Oursana, winner of the Special Popular Jury Prize. Writer and editor Simona Cleopazzo and Loredana De Vitis, journalist and writer, will moderate. The two appointments are part of the rich programme of Conversazioni sul futuro, an event organised by Diffondiamo idee di valore and coordinated by Gabriella Morelli.
