
Conversations on the future/ Male Nostrum

The documentary signed by Amalia De Simone and screened at the Officine Cantelmo for the Conversazioni sul futuro (Conversations on the future) festival on contemporary life, organised by the association Diffondiamo idee di valore (Let's spread valuable ideas) and coordinated by Gabriella Morelli, is entitled 'La madre'. The documentary is set in a part of the old city centre of Naples that for years has been hostage to degradation and the Camorra: in this handkerchief of land, a Unesco heritage site, ferocious gangs of youths have faced each other sowing terror and innocent deaths. The journalist and video reporter talks about this with Elisa Monsellato, co-founder of Swap Museum and coordinator of Icom (International Council of Museums for Puglia) and Laura Valente, cultural manager, musicologist and journalist. Moderator: Marta Vignola, lecturer in legal sociology, deviance and social change at the University of Salento.
At 9 p.m., instead, it is the turn of "Male nostrum: Lampedusa 10 years after the 2013 shipwreck" a documentary by Fabio Masi, director of the Rai 3 programme Blob, followed by the talk featuring Vito Fiorino, carpenter, fisherman and rescuer of shipwrecked people, Remon Karam, human rights activist. Moderator: Francesca Corbo, events and testimonies manager Amnesty International Italy.
