Conversations on the future/Foodsystem, end of life and the Cucchi case

At the Officine Cantelmo the programme of the festival Conversazioni sul futuro (Conversations on the future), which recounts the contemporary world through its social, cultural and geopolitical folds, organised by the association Diffondiamo idee di valore (Let's spread valuable ideas) with the coordination of Gabriella Morelli, is rich.

The day begins at 10.30 a.m. with the presentation of the book "Foodsystem 5.0. Agritech Mediterranean diet community' by Alex Giordano. A reflection on how technological innovation can help solve the problems caused by climate change, counter the loss of biodiversity and improve the quality of food, avoiding the risk of leaving people and communities out and increasing inequality.

At 4.30 p.m., Vito Alfieri Fontana will present his book 'I was the man of war. La mia vita da fabbricante di armi a seminatore" written with Antonio Sanfrancesco, in which he recounts his two lives: first as an anti-personnel mine manufacturer and then as a deminer and humanitarian worker. During the meeting, the film "Il successore" by Mattia Epifani will be screened.

At 7 p.m., the meeting on the end of life entitled: "Living and dying with dignity: from people's bodies to the heart of politics" with Filomena Gallo, national secretary of the Luca Coscioni Association for the freedom of scientific research (in connection); Silvia Miglietta, councillor for welfare of the Municipality of Lecce and Mario Riccio, physician, anaesthetist-reanimator. Moderator: Gabriele De Giorgi.

At 8.15 p.m. we move on to 'The new TV: between nostalgia and the future' with Marco Carrara, Bruno Mastroianni and Antonio Sofi.

It closes with a meeting on the Cucchi case, which the festival has always followed closely over the years: at 9.30 p.m. the talk "Uguali davanti alla legge. The murder of Stefano Cucchi. From the Cucchi bis trial sentence to the present day" featuring Ilaria Cucchi, Fabio Anselmo, Marco Damilano, Floriana Bulfon and Riccardo Lanzarone. followed by a dj set by Beirut world beat.
