Conversations on the future/ Cecilia Sala

The afternoon is dedicated to foreign affairs and hot fronts in the world at Officine Cantelmo, for the last day of Conversazioni sul futuro, organised by Diffondiamo idee di valore with the coordination of Gabriella Morelli. It starts at 4.30 p.m. with the meeting "Emergency talk. The things it is important to discuss", an original way of confrontation to propose new perspectives from which to observe society and its narrative. With the authors, Claudio Jampaglia, creative director and founding partner of Tita, and the journalist Giuseppe Mazza, participants are stimulated and take a position on the communication of war, propaganda, migration and racism.

At 6.45 p.m., the project "Ukrainian field notes | 24 february 2022 - 24 february 2023: diary of a full-scale invasion through the words of ukrainian musicians" by Gianmarco Del Re will be presented. This work originated as a series of interviews with musicians, volunteers, and activists, published on the experimental music website A Closer Listen in the aftermath of the Russian invasion of Ukrainian territory on 24 February 2022. The artist and film maker talks with Marco Rainò, architect, designer and independent curator, and Paolo Foresio, Councillor for Entertainment and Tourism of the Municipality of Lecce. Yurii Bazaka, Ukrainian Defence Musicians, and Oleksii Makarenzo, Gasoline Radio, will be in attendance.

At 8 p.m., Zarifa Ghafari, a young Afghan woman forced to flee with the return of the Taliban, presents her book 'Zarifa. La battaglia di una donna in un mondo di uomini" (Solferino) and talks with journalist Marta Serafini. The last appointment is at 9.15 p.m. with Cecilia Sala, journalist for Il Foglio, author and voice of the Stories podcast (Chora News) who, accompanied by Pierpaolo Lala, talks about her book "L'incendio. Reportage on a generation between Iran, Ukraine and Afghanistan" (Mondadori).
