Conversations on the future/ Caravale, Serafini, the Giulio Regeni case, Gheno

Entitled "Senza intellettuali. Politica e cultura in Italia negli ultimi trent'anni' (Laterza) is the book Giorgio Caravale, professor of modern history at the University of Roma Tre, is presenting at the Officine Cantelmo for Conversazioni sul futuro, the event organised by Diffondiamo idee di valore, coordinated by Gabriella Morelli. Discussing with the author will be councillor Fabiana Cicirillo; Luigi De Luca, director of the Castromediano Museum in Lecce and coordinator of the Puglia Region's biblio-museum poles; Gabriella Morelli, artistic director of the festival; Marino Sinibaldi, director Sotto il vulcano (Feltrinelli), author and voice of the podcast Timbuctu. Pierpaolo Lala will moderate.

It will continue at 7.30 p.m. with "The real war: perché le guerra non è un reel", a monologue by Marta Serafini, Corriere della Sera journalist, with photographs by Vincenzo Circosta.

To follow, at 8.30 pm, the talk 'Inviolabili: verità e giustizia per Giulio Regeni' with Paola Deffendi and Claudio Regeni, parents of the Italian researcher found lifeless in Cairo in February 2016. The Constitutional Court, a few days ago, upheld the appeal of the Rome gip and the Egyptian 007s can be tried for the kidnapping, torture and death of Giulio Regeni. Closing at 10 p.m. with a monologue by sociolinguist Vera Gheno in memory of Michela Murgia, the writer and activist who passed away last August, 'Today Murgia shines like never before...'.
