Canti e Incanti/ Vera di Lecce

It is a symbolic journey celebrating the connection, the material and immaterial exchange between two territories that have always looked at each other from the two shores of the Adriatic Sea: Greece and Apulia. "Canti e Incanti", in its second edition, organised by the Tarantarte company, offers a contemporary interpretation of the ritual dimension of dance, comparing it with the most ancient traditions of the Mediterranean and mixing it with the iconographic heritage preserved in archaeological museums. At the Castromediano Museum, the event starts with the presentation of Alessia Rollo's video animation “Presto tutta la terra danzerà” (Soon the whole earth will dance), which can be enjoyed in the museum spaces during the days of the festival, from 26^th to 29^th December. It then continues with the voice and the guitar of Vera Di Lecce, a singer and performer who travels the meanders of electronic experimentation, accompanied by the music and performance of Tarantarte. Her concert “Altar of Love” is a ritual that, amidst oriental and Mediterranean percussion intertwined with Salento tambourines and synths, takes the audience to a non-place where past and future coexist.
