Veniamoci incontro a teatro/ Verba Manent

Fabrizio Pugliese and Fabrizio Saccomanno of Ura teatro go on stage at the Paisiello Theatre for the premiere of the theatre season of the Municipality of Lecce with the Teatro Pubblico Pugliese 'Veniamoci incontro a teatro', with the show 'Verba manent. Canto per Ennio De Giorgi', with music by Marco Schiavone. A tale of the genius of De Giorgi, one of Italy's greatest mathematicians, considered by his own professors to be 'an exception', born in Lecce on 8 February 1928. But Ennio was not only a mathematician of international renown, he knew how to simplify complex theories with elegance and skill, rare qualities recognised by the entire academic world and still relevant today. The play also reveals his humanity, sincerity and openness to the world, because, as he himself said, 'science without wisdom is nothing'.

The show is a co-production between the Department of Mathematics of the University of Pisa, the Scuola Normale Superiore, UMI Unione Matematica Italiana, with the collaboration of the University of Salento.

Tickets from 8 to 15 euros. It is possible to buy a suspended ticket, which goes to associations, family homes and social cooperatives for those who cannot afford to go to the theatre.
