Veniamoci incontro a teatro/ The Mother

Lunetta Savino stars in "La madre", Florian Zeller's text that sharply investigates maternal love and the pathological drifts to which it can lead. The play, which also sees Andrea Renzi, Niccolò Ferrero and Chiarastella Sorrentino on stage at the Apollo Theatre, directed by Marcello Cotugno, maintains a black comedy tone that gradually turns into ruthless drama, a hypnotic and cruel vertigo from which it is impossible to escape. The departure of her adult son is experienced by the protagonist as a real betrayal, to which is added the decadence of conjugal love: Anna, the mother, finds herself in a place where she does not recognise herself, isolated and excluded. But is it not also her responsibility? For having renounced dreams, hopes and desires in the name of motherhood and for a son on whom she pours frustrations, remorse and lost ideals. "La madre" is a show in the playbill of the theatre season of the Municipality of Lecce and Teatro Pubblico Pugliese.

Tickets range from 15 to 25 euros. It is possible to buy a suspended ticket that is donated to associations, family homes and social cooperatives for those who cannot afford to go to the theatre.
