Those who are curious to know what goes on in the kitchens of Palazzo Ponteleone, while in the luxurious halls on the upper floor the famous ball narrated in 'The Leopard' is being performed, cannot miss 'Amori e sapori nelle cucine del Gattopardo'. In two acts for a total of 90 minutes, clashes and blackmail between Teresa and Monsù Gaston, played by Tosca D'Aquino and Gianpiero Ingrassia, are recounted with succulent irony. Teresa is the cook, who in her youth was the favourite courtesan of Don Fabrizio Salina, the Leopard. Monsù Gaston is the cook, sent to help the Ponteleone family by Don Fabrizio himself. Amid flying crockery and frying-pan throwing, the two cooks quarrel and fight, envious of each other, rivaling not only in preparing the best dishes, but above all in seeking the exclusive attentions of Don Fabrizio. Scents and dishes typical of Sicilian cuisine are artfully mixed with sacred and profane feelings in that kaleidoscopic world of eroticism and languor, of passion and harshness, of which the 'deep' South is made.
