Therasia Teatro/ Pile!

The latest show by the young Salento-based company Therasia Teatro-Il garage delle arti, or "Mucchio!", is freely inspired by "Fin de partie", one of Samuel Beckett's most popular plays. As in the original text, two grotesque figures, survivors of an undefined catastrophe, play their game locked up, barricaded in a cramped space, not yet resigned to the impending end of the world. They play in a vain attempt to break the deadlock or to end up losing on a chessboard without drama or dialectic, without dramaturgy or author. Just a heap of false moves and imaginary solutions for a final showdown, for a game already played. As in the philosophical paradox, a thousand grains of wheat make a pile of wheat. First one grain is removed, then another, then another, and in the end a heap remains. Or conversely, as in Beckettian logic, the days flow like grains of wheat. They add one to another, until one day, suddenly, there is the heap.
