Can comedy be poetic? Can poetry make people cry with laughter? The affirmative answer is given by Okidok, dancers, comedians, mime artists, conjurers, equilibrists, noisemakers, instrumentalists, cascers and much more, among the most interesting exponents of the new international clownerie. In the show 'Slips inside', this modern, refined and at the same time extremely pop Belgian duo hybridises various circus techniques: juggling, balancing and acrobatics. Wearing nothing but funny underpants, Xavier Bouvier and Benoit Devos give life to an amusing contest of mistaken somersaults and improbable balancing acts, offering original comedy without the use of words, thanks to minimalist make-up and costumes and a skilful and virtuoso use of body techniques, facial expressions and rhythm. Their show is a sequence of sketches that are as surreal as they are hilarious, a crackling performance that calls the audience into question and leads them into an absurdly funny world, between classical clowning and visual comedy.
