Theater of Places/ Fabrizio Bentivoglio

"The past is a foreign country..." is the subtitle guiding this year's international festival of theater, music, dance and performing arts "The Theater of Places," a project of Teatro Koreja that aims to convey a different image of the artistic and architectural beauty of the territory through the arts, where the chosen places become a natural setting that is dressed in new meanings. The playbill is divided into four thematic areas that revolve around the concepts of time, country and what is foreign. Themes that lead back to the city, which like people contains beauty and imperfections: country and memory; country and community: theater; country and ritual: dance; country and myth.

It starts with "Country and Memory" at the cloister of the Rector's Office with Fabrizio Bentivoglio bringing to the stage "Clandestine Reading. The Loneliness of the Satyr by Ennio Flaiano." Flaiano was one of the intellectuals who knew how to tell Italy like few, from the postwar period to the end of the 1960s, and traced a timely image of Italian society, with his sharp and mocking eye, bringing out its vices and virtues. Fabrizio Bentivoglio, accompanied by the notes of Ferruccio Spinetti's double bass, reads some articles published in newspapers and magazines collected in the posthumous book "La solitudine del satiro," giving voice to those biting words still relevant today.
