The children of the hasty
White sticks and dark glasses, shaky gait and timorous movements, but also obstinacy, enthusiasm, desire for revenge: a chorus of blind people as an emblem of humanity, an allegory of a lost and insecure society, never surrendering. This is 'I figli della frettolosa', a show by the Berardi Casolari company, Fondazione Luzzati Teatro della Tosse, which lands on the stage of the Paisiello theatre for the municipal theatre season. The theme is both intimate and universal at the same time: blindness in its meaning of 'seeing', set in a contemporary world in which the bombardment of images and sounds, which increasingly neutralise our strong senses, sight and hearing, leads the individual's attention further and further away from true knowledge of being, of existence. On stage, blindness is represented by Gianfranco Berardi and Gabriella Casolari as a real, physical life experience, and as a metaphorical concept, synonymous with a social and existential myopia that affects us personally. On stage, together with Gianfranco Berardi and Gabriella Casolari, are Ludovico D'Agostino, Flavia Neri, Silvia Zaru and the chorus of blind and visually impaired actors from the theatre training workshop on the theme of blindness.
