Teatro in Tasca/ The tenacious tin soldier

Andersen's famous fairy tale becomes "a stage film", a meta-theatre version readapted and staged by the Teatro delle Apparizioni. The set is the playroom, full of old favourite toys and with a window looking out onto an imaginary exterior. In an enchanted atmosphere the tin soldier and his ballerina are the protagonists of a love story, in which the objects come to life talking, moving, feeling emotions. With a small hand-held camera, Fabrizio Pallara and Valerio Malorni move belly to belly in the stage space, projecting the images live on a big screen. The two different languages of theatre and cinema hybridise and compensate each other, each overcoming its own limits. The framing allows us to see details otherwise imperceptible to the audience in the stalls, from where instead we can catch a glimpse of the general view, the entire toy room. The show won the Eolo Awards and the Piccolipalchi Operators Award, but is magically able to speak to adult spectators as well.
