STRADE MAESTRE/L’Oreste

“When the dead kill the living” is the subtitle, more emblematic than ever, of “L'Oreste”, staged at the Koreja Theater in Lecce for the new appointment of Strade Maestre. The play by Francesco Niccolini, for Lost Academy and Romagna theaters and society for actors, directed by Giuseppe Marini, is centered on the figure of a man interned in the asylum of Imola, abandoned there since he was a child. One who has always been in the wrong place at the worst time.

A reflection on a life without discounts, on love denied and on loneliness. Between theater and animated comics, thanks to Andrea Bruno's illustrations, Oreste's dreams and nightmares come to the surface in a journey between Imola and the Moon, through the desperate tenderness of a man abandoned as a child who has never been found again.
