Strade Maestre/ EVƎ

An iconoclastic, revolutionary and at the same time popular manifesto is proposed by the 27th season of Strade Maestre. "EVƎ" (original title "God's New Frock" by Jo Clifford, a transsexual playwright and performer from Edinburgh) tells of six prisoners, men and women imprisoned in social reality, the offspring of a religious creed infused with patriarchy and sexism. The history of humankind, since the creation of Adam and Eve, has tolerated the binary and violent distinction between genders and the supremacy of male over female, resulting in the tragic banishment of those who do not identify with either one gender or the other. The six protagonists oppose this with the authenticity of their experiences, the intensity of their feelings, the coherence of their actions. Andrea Adriatico transforms the original monologue into a chorus, confronting the fluidity of human and theatrical genres, stories and identities. At the end of the show, the evening continues with "Merry dragmas, darling!", a concert by the drag queen Tekemaya, who with her wild band interprets the evergreens of Italian pop music, all to be sung and danced together.
