Put a book in the theatre/ The White Nights

Put a book in the theatre/ The White Nights

The silent, magical nights of St Petersburg cradle a story in two voices narrated in what is considered to be Fyodor Dostoevsky's early masterpiece, 'The White Nights'. And so the characters from the novel come to life in the cloister of the Teatini with Mauro Racanati and Barbara Bovoli accompanied by the notes of Giorgio Trione Bartoli's piano, for the "Metti un libro a teatro" (Put a book in the theatre) event, organised and promoted by Ergo Sum. The story tells of a young dreamer, isolated from reality and any friendship, who during a night walk meets a girl who awakens in him the feeling of love. Her name is Nasten'ka, she is seventeen years old and is immediately struck by his shy and awkward character, so much so that they meet again the next night. The novel takes place over four nights, during which the two open up to each other.
