Put a book in the theatre/ Apology of Socrates

Narration, dance and a moving chorus animate the stage where Enrico Lo Verso brings to life Plato's Apology of Socrates, which tells much about the thought of one of the most important Greek philosophers of antiquity. On the stage of the cloister of the Teatini, a great classic of literature is re-adapted for the 'Metti un libro a teatro' project, organised and promoted by Ergo Sum. The work appears as an unconditional defence by the author of his beloved master Socrates, who was brought to trial perhaps for a misinterpretation of his thought. In the dramaturgical reduction, a light is shone on the human story, which unites many: those who suffer the judgement and mockery of the crowd because of their 'diversity' and those who under the weight of an infamous and unjust accusation have lost their lives.
