Nasca Teatri di Terra/ Theatrical Barbonaggio

A stage, a costume, some stories to share and, as if by magic, it is immediately theatre. Artisti-barboni per un giorno', the 12th edition of the collective theatrical barbonaggio organised by Nasca Teatri di Terra, returns to Lecce. It is a widespread festival of theatre, a great community rite, where the spectator chooses from a carnet the show he/she wants to attend. It is an intelligent way of giving visibility to theatre, restoring dignity to the actor's craft, getting people used to recognising the value of poetry, of words, nourishing the soul through art. The appointment for everyone, audience and performers, is in Piazza Sant'Oronzo. At 7 p.m. in the centre of the square an informal meeting is scheduled with the theatrical performers, to take stock together of the state of the art in their area. Afterwards, at 8.30 p.m., the ritual reading of Antonio de Curtis's 'Preghiera del clown' is the go-ahead for the artists' performances, which will take place simultaneously in the square and the surrounding streets until 10 p.m.
