The story of the young man from Salento who fell into the blind grip of war is delicate and heartbreaking. Reconstructed through documents from the psychiatric hospital in Lecce and military archives, the story of Cristoforo Mele unfolds on the stage of Nasca il teatro, with his human frailty, exposed to the horrors of the conflict, inevitably falling into the abyss of depression, before death. "Letters of Cristoforo Mele to his mother", a premiere performance written and performed by Giuseppe Semeraro with original music by Marco Leone Bartolo, traces a young life, broken like millions of others. The letters do not exist, but are Semeraro's artistic device to give voice to those who, taken from their natural destiny, ended up in the senseless slaughter of the front.
