Napoli Futurista

Freely inspired by the synoptic declamation of Filippo Tommaso Marinetti and Francesco Cangiullo, "Napoli Futurista" returns to Lecce after a year of national touring. A project by Fraume teatro, the 'parolibero' act by Simone Miglietta, who is also on stage, recounts the Neapolitan city and in particular its irony and dynamism. A bizarre and noisy echo of a South where there is the chaos of markets, parades of saints and Madonnas, together with scugnizzi, eccentrically dressed women and fireworks. The play mocks imperialist rationalism and recounts the heart of a city, even in its chaotic impulses. Miglietta's voice moves over stereotypes, dropping into that folk wisdom that can be very profound. A name often resounds, 'Catarì', like a distant voice, like a spirit that knows something beyond the noise.
