Musco Court/ Villa Serena

As part of the patronal celebrations of Saint Oronzo, Giusto and Fortunato, on the evening of the eve of the celebrations, the Villa Comunale will host the Salento theatre company Corte dei Musco, which will stage William Fiorentino's comedy 'Villa Serena'. The play in two brilliant parts, written and directed by the over-eighty year old and still prolific playwright from Lecce, deals with the theme of jealousy in couples and promises, as always, lots of healthy fun and lots of laughter with a liberating and consoling flavour. It is theatre in the vernacular, often mistreated but capable of representing that veracious and proudly popular soul. The Corte dei Musco company, which will celebrate its 26th anniversary in November, has always performed William Fiorentino's texts and combines the unwavering testimony of a language with its roots firmly in the Salento area with the consciousness of a rigorous and careful preparation, which deserves the applause of the audience.
