Massimo Ghini - Paolo Ruffini/ Quasi amici (Almost Friends)

'Almost Friends' is an adaptation for the theatre of the film subject and screenplay. It is a fascinating story, told in the language of theatre, the language of deepest emotions. Two very different men meet by chance. One is rich, intelligent, cultured and charming. He falls with his paraglider and fractures his fourth cervical vertebra, becoming paralysed. The other man has been in and out of jail since childhood. He is bright, practical and with an education learned from the streets and B-movies. The two soon become indivisible, indispensable to each other. Unconsciously, each possesses and gives the other that lightness capable of soothing inner wounds. In the theatrical version, which features Massimo Ghini and Paolo Ruffini on stage, their friendship is explored in depth, which leads them to finally find centredness and in the search for that Calvinian lightness, which moves, enjoys and laughs until tears.
