MA’. Di parti e di rinascite

Being mothers and daughters “inside”. Emphasising the condition of confinement, yet crossing physical and mental boundaries, evoking universal emotions and images in a chorus of all-female voices. Around all of this revolves "MA'. Di parti e di rinascite nel prigione femminile", an idea by Carmen Ines Tarantino and Benedetta Pati, which takes shape in a video installation in collaboration with Mattia Epifani. The process behind the realisation involves all those who live the prison context, from the inmates themselves to the prison police staff, but also educators, psychologists, and volunteers from the associations that carry out activities in the facility. Together, they built an innovative and unprecedented plot, through different points of view, gazes, relationships and reactions. The artistic result is installed in the Casa Circondariale di Lecce, in an intimate and restricted environment that allows only a few spectators at a time.
