Live/ Giorgio Magri

He is the first and only Italian representative of insult comedy, the genre to which two giants like Groucho Marx and Don Rickles belong. In his 'Live', the Milanese Giorgio Magri produces a succession of politically incorrect jokes, black humour and angry monologues, with direct and merciless language, sparing no trivialities or unseemly expressions as a true professional of pissing off. His is a parody as sharp as a blade, which must be decoded because it says the opposite of what it seems, basically defending precisely what or whom it seems to target. Please refrain from well-meaning, touchy-feely, bigots and fans of political correctness. His secret lies in calibrating the insult, depriving it of rancour and judgement, without affecting the comic vis. Or, in his own words: 'There is no hatred but mockery, I mostly mock myself'. The event is part of "Comedy Line", a review organised by Stand Up Comedy Lecce & Rocketta.
