
Lecce legge Dante

The itinerant project, promoted by the Centre for Books and Reading and realised with Adi (Italianists' Association), after Taormina, Rome, Reggio Calabria and Padua, lands in the Teatini Cloister for an evening of words, reflections and music dedicated to the Supreme Poet.
A journey through the Hell, Purgatory and Paradise' Rounds, then, featuring three characters from the Divine Comedy: Brunetto Lantini, Sordello da Goito and Giustiniano, whose lives and adventures are “narrated” on stage by Raiz, the historic voice of the Almamegretta, and the writer Nicola Lagioia. The focus of the evening in Lecce will be on Canto XV of Inferno and Canto VI of Purgatory and Paradise, conducted by Alberto Rollo. The musical accompaniment to the readings will be provided by musicians from the Conservatorio "Tito Schipa" in Lecce. The evening will be introduced by the mayor of Lecce, Carlo Salvemini, and the director of the Centro per il libro e la lettura, Angelo Piero Cappello.
