Giovanni is an entrepreneur and family man. His beloved daughter, Alice, is about to get married. The bridegroom-to-be is the scion of a wealthy family, but the preparations for the ceremony descend into increasing chaos, which together with the cost of the wedding, push the protagonist to the limit. “Il padre della sposa” (The Father of the Bride) revolves entirely around the jealousy of the father, who pretends to blame his stress on the wedding preparations, but in fact is only avoiding an inner confrontation with an unexpected empty nest syndrome. On the stage of the Teatro Politeama Greco, Gianluca Guidi directs Gianfranco Jannuzzo and Barbara De Rossi, with the participation of Martina Difonte in the role of Alice, in a 90-minute comedy where the father must come to terms with the idea of leaving his beloved daughter in the hands of a stranger.
