His are the verses most quoted to describe the bitterness of a certain South, 'the lime houses', 'the land where tobacco grows' with its 'light that seems like raw meat'. It is he who described so well that contrasting feeling for the Salento, a land that binds and ensnares, to which one cannot help but return. Vittorio Bodini, poet and translator, is the protagonist of the fourth recital in the series 'Qui se mai verrai, il Salento dei poeti', organised by the Fondo Verri from July to October, as part of the initiatives promoted for Summer 2022 by the municipal administration. Piero Rapanà reads his verses with the poignant accordion of Bruno Galeone, in the courtyard of the former conservatory of Sant'Anna, under the ancient fronds of the ficus magnolia.
