Hamelin

In the German town of Hamelin, it is forbidden to play music along the Drumless Street, and even parades that arrive jubilantly immediately stop and lay down their instruments. It has been this way since, legend has it, 130 children disappeared without explanation, as the plaque affixed to the house of the rat catcher reads. Legend and reality mingle in the show 'Hamelin', a production by Factory Compagnia Transadriatica together with Fondazione Sipario Toscana, which sees Fabio Tinella on stage, with dramaturgy and direction by Tonio De Nitto. The show, which just recently won the Eolo Awards 2023, a prestigious award for theatre for the new generations promoted since 2006 by the online magazine Eolo, has its roots in a news story gradually transformed into a fairy tale, first in the oral tradition, and then in the collection "Germanic Saghe" by the Brothers Grimm. However, with all its nuances, the town of Hamelin comes back to life with the fear and darkness caused by the disease brought by mice.
