Eva's mother/ Stefania Rocca

It is loosely based on Silvia Ferreri's novel "La madre di Eva," a finalist for the Strega Prize in 2018, a special event surprisingly included in the Lecce City Council's 2023 theater season. The main performer is Stefania Rocca, who is the adaptation and director, on stage with Bryan Ceotto and Simon Sisti Ajmone. Artistic consulting is by Luciano Melchionna, music by Luca Maria Baldini. It is the touching story of a mother, speaking to those who have always considered her daughter to be female, as in a Belgrade clinic the surgeon draws lines with a marker on Alexander's naked body. The surgery will allow him to finally realize his desire to become a man, the one he has always felt he was, before he turns 18. In a dialogue suspended between reality and imagination, surreal and unanswerable, the mother recounts their life up to that moment. A journey of love and hate, guilt, fears, desires and hopes. What does it mean to be a mother? No woman is born a mother, just as no one is born a parent. The only real possibility is love, in a continuous exchange between parents and children, in a real and sincere listening between different generations.
Tickets from 10 to 20 euros, also on the vivaticket circuit.
