Dante and the deadly sins

"Dante and the Deadly Sins" is the show curated by professor Nadia Bray who brings together philosophy, fashion and theater in the auditorium of the "Castromediano" Museum in Lecce. The event is part of the celebrations promoted by the University of Salento for the seven hundredth anniversary of the death of Dante Alighieri and was born from the interaction between the degree course in Philosophy and Rosanna Calcagnile, founder of the Calcagnile Academy, costume designer for cinema and classical theater and avant-garde. The theme of the deadly sins, already explored by the Calcagnile collections, inspired a collection of clothes made for the occasion, starting from the famous pages of the Divine Comedy, revisited in a political-cultural slant. The Salento artist Angela de Gaetano wears them, giving voice to the verses of the Divine Comedy, while the performance is animated by digital videos made by students of the "Palmieri" Lyceum in Lecce.
