Carbon

Carbon

"To Carbon, the element of life, was addressed my first literary dream, insistently dreamt at a time and place when my life was not worth much," wrote Primo Levi. The play 'Carbonio', written, directed and performed by Giustina De Iaco of the Associazione Teatro dell'Argo, tells precisely the story of a carbon atom. The music-theatre reading is inspired by the words of the Jewish writer and chemist from Turin, who survived Nazi deportation to the Buna-Monowitz lager, one of the 'satellite' camps of Auschwitz. Thanks to the contribution of Eleonora Carbone, who plays the harp, and Debora De Massimo, who deals with visual art, the spectator is introduced to the ancient and ever contemporary places of the soul of the artistic-literary tradition, until he or she is confronted with a sudden and disturbing dystopian drift. Voice, music and pictorial art accompany the audience on a Dantean journey of expiation and redemption.

Tickets: 12 euro.
