Between the threads of time. The Archive between past, present and future

It is not often that the State Archives (in via Sozy Carafa, 15) open its doors to non-experts. Forty-five visitors, enthusiasts or simply curious, who enter it, taking advantage of the extraordinary opening as part of the Archivissima 22 festival and the Night of the Archives, are lucky. This year's theme of the Festival is "change", a real characteristic of modern times. For archival institutions, the main change taking place is the digitization of documents, the transition in a short time from paper to e-mails and instant messaging.

"Tra i fili del tempo" is a meeting-show, organized by the Koreja Theater, full of suggestions, in a game of cross-references between printed paper and virtual files, between individual memory and the collective memory of the community, which unfolds between the rooms of the State Archives of Lecce, a physical and at the same time symbolic place of the preservation of the past. The three replicas of the site-specific theatrical journey between past, present and future, entrusted to the actors of the Koreja Theater, are for only fifteen spectators in three shifts: at 6 pm, 7 pm and 8 pm. The State Archives, its complex and at the same time close proximity to life and to the different forms of art and the elaboration of thought, through theater and technology (spectators wear headphones), restore the unusual charm of the documents.
