  An enchanting obscurity/ Ondjaki

   An enchanting obscurity/ Ondjaki

"Cafuné", in an untranslatable Brazilianism, is that affectionate gesture of running one's hand through a loved one's hair. Cafuné is also the name of the association that disseminates and promotes the cultures of Portuguese-speaking countries (Portugal, Brazil, Guiné Bissau, São Tomé and Príncipe, Angola, Mozambique, Cape Verde, Timor-Leste), which organises various events to this end, including music, art, literature and even gastronomy. The October appointment, curated by Cristina Gemmino, in the evocative spaces of the church of the Augustinian complex, is with Ondjaki, Angolan writer Saramago Prize 2013. And it is from his vast literary production that Ura Teatro brings 'Una incantevole oscurità' to the stage. The story takes us back to 1980s Luanda, to when the independence government decided to suspend electricity for a few hours in the evening. Between darkness and half-light, the story of a young man who invents the perfect setting for a kiss he longs to give his girlfriend comes to life. Giving body, music and voice to this love without light are Marco Schiavone on the cello, Fabrizio Saccomanno on vocals and Egidio Marullo on the overhead projector.

Tickets: 10 euros, 5 for school groups with a minimum of 20 participants.
